If you are reading this on trappermarkelz.com, you will see a little badge in the left nav bar with a logo for Onxiam.com. It is a new software service by my friend Kevin Poulsen for cataloging and making available in one place, all of your online identities.
It is a really cool idea... it isn't really there for you to track the accounts that you have... you can use it that way... but more importantly it is a way of communicating to your friends, family and others what other content and data you are creating or participating in on the web.
The need for such a service was very apparent when I signed up for MySpace one day, only to find out a few weeks later that practically everyone I know also have MySpace accounts. These were all people who have pictures on Flickr or blogs on Live Journal, but I never knew they had MySpace accounts as well.
When I was spending some time in Second Life, I signed up and was instantly curious if any of my friends already had accounts. Currently, there is no good way to find this information. Onxiam.com seeks to solve these types of issues. It is a brilliant project and I wish Kevin luck!
